Amy Peters Wood

Amy Peters Wood began her art studies at the Decordova Museum school in Lincoln Mass. She studied both zoology, physics and art at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and Mills College in Oakland, California. She studied painting part-time at The Rhode Island school of Design and the Maine College of Art. Additionally, she holds a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Tufts University.

Wood divides her time between North Haven, Georgetown, Maine and Dunnellon Florida. She completed a global circumnavigation with her husband Philip Shelton, on board "Iwalani" a gaff rigged cutter they built at their farm in Georgetown, Maine. Upon their return, they built an amphibious float plane, from which she spends time exploring and sketching the less accessible regions of Maine.
